AFC Champions

Yesterday will go down as one of the proudest moments of my admittedly very sad life. I suppose that if I have a kid who gets married or wins the Nobel prize or some shit I would be pretty happy too, but I still don't know whether it would be better than this. I need a few days to collect my thoughts and bask in the glory, but plenty of coverage of Super Bowl XL will follow over the course of the next two weeks. I love the fucking Steelers.

first a fantasy championship, now the superbowl! is this the best year of your life?

hypothetical: if you were required to give away either the $900 you won in fantasy or the superbowl, which would you keep?

It was actually $720 that I won. Nonetheless, it has been a pretty good year for me so far. I'm actually listening to Joe Walsh's "Life's Been Good" as I'm writing this, if that gives you any kind of indication of my current state of mind.

To answer your question, I would rather have the Super Bowl. The money from the fantasy league was nice, but it really isn't enough to affect my quality of life. It really just allowed me to upgrade from 12 oz. cans to tall boys for the rest of the semester. On the other hand, the championship trophy from HSFL is pretty fucking sweet, and will be a source of pride for me for many years.

I have a very vivid memory of Tracy (the creepy, mulleted janitor who crashed all the football team parties at Carleton) blasting "Life's Been Good" through the open windows and doors of Casa Negs as he was vaccuming up Bill's dandruff and attending to Dominos boxes, empty containers of Tayo's lotion, and of course, mountains of tissues.

i've seen the giants play in 3 superbowls, but i've never won $720.
